Like here in Massachusetts, Bostonians have almost kind of like a sub-language. If you said '

Paki, however, is a correct descriptive name to use for someone of Pakistani descent. It is peoples USE of it that has made it a slur. I have had several pakistani friends when I was at school who often referred to eachother as Paki, and had no qualms with people referring to them as such as long as it wasn't rude.
For example,
"I love paki fashion,"
as opposed to
"Fuck off, paki,"
See the difference?
