Me being as small as I am, I'm always concerned about whether the guys I meet who like Lolicon see me as a legal aged Lolishota or not o_O
However, i am on quite a conundrum when the roles are reversed. When the male is 15ish and the female is older, i do not think i am so offended, but i think it might be due to the way the relationship is portrayed. In a manga i read, Kurohime, a young boy is saved by an adult female. 10 years later, making him about 15 i think, he finds the adult female but in a child form. When she feels love for him, she returns to her adult form and gains her adult powers. That is an example of a relationship, but it doesnt cross the boundries of perverted.. however its due to him being honourable rather then it being about his looks. Ral-Grad has a male character, 15, who has the fasination for boobs (typical boy then) but the women dont really seem to push him away.. This however is funny to me.
So the same situation but reversed (and by that i dont just mean swap the genders, but also the younger one liking the older one) is slightly more tollerable then the other way round... Regardless of sexual contact of any kind, a kiss, anything, cut all that out just so that it would be about having feelings for the other, its just creepier to me for older man liking the underage female, when instead older woman liking underage boy, and underage boy or girl likeing the older one, seem almost acceptable due to the way they are set out. Most of the times when you think lolicon, its usually a helpless, nieve, almost victim like character that doesnt really know what they are doing... to me that is like real life, which is why i find it disturbing. The others i've been talking about seem to grant the younger side with almost an adult style of thinking, making you forget about their age and care only for the story.
Thats my thought on it, i personally dont like it, but if others do thats their choice.
But to be honest, it's not like anime PROMOTES these things! Just like A Clockwork Orange doesn't promote 'ultra-violence' or rape we can't say that just because its written down or said on TV means its a good thing or is tolerable. Fiction is fiction, its what the writer wants to use to get the story across, so if it's left in the books and in the anime, then I think we should just let people get on with it if they want. Freedom of speech and all that, you know.
