Hm...see I'm conflicted about Lolicon as well.
Although I'll be one to admit, I DO tend to like it, BUT I'm very specific about it. I cannot STAND Rape in Lolicon, it just really bothers me. I will enjoy Lolicon/Shota[male version] if it's with TWO parties that are underage, or if the age gap isn't TOO big. For example, I've read some Digimon Doujinshis that I've really liked, and I've read some AkuSora and AkuRoku that one would definitely consider Shota. It's all a matter of the subject.

But I DO understand that many people are opposed to it, or dislike it, and I would NEVER force it upon anyone.

As for the guy in Virginia or whatever, he did kinda deserve it. While I definitely applaud him for turning to a fake-alternative, he is a bit of a creep for looking at pornography in a PUBLIC Library.

I honestly don't know what I think about it, judging by the fact that I've never really read/watched any of it. I think that it would really depend on the characters for me, how much of an age difference it really IS, and if it's actually a love thing and not just for sex.
I don't really like it because girls that are underaged usually don't know what true love really is and they don't really understand/might think it's "real" when it's not.
So I don't know my opinion... >.<;
Although now that I think about it really I don't honestly care if people read/watch it but I don't think that I would watch it myself, I mean... *attempts to gather thoughts XD* As you said, if it's an outlet for some people than that's a good thing, right? So I think we should just let the people who do like it be if that makes sense >.<

I've seen the damage large age gaps in real life relationships can do, and it seems to me that too make it into entertainment is wrong. Then again, they are just characters and as long as the gaps in age don't get too large, I don't find myself disgusted by the going ons or questioning them.

I never really look at my pairings that fall into that category as lolicon (such as Marluxia/Namine, for example *dodges bullets*). I suppose that since some of my pairings fall into the category, it doesn't bother me, but I can certainly see why it would bother other people. I think that as long as the underage person is old enough to know what he/she is doing (like, in their teen years), and it is a consentual relationship, it isn't that bad. But, if we're talking an eight-year-old and a middle-aged person, that may be a different story.

I dont think there is anything wrong with lolicon because it is a manga. now If it were REAL life then I would understand why people would be upset about it. But no one is being hurt by the manga and or anime.

I feel that it's fine. ANd that if some, say 25 year old guy falls inlove with a middle/high schooler, it's completely fine. It should be no bussiness of the publics, just like with gays. And lolicon rockz.
