... Select All. Delete.Seriously. Over 70 journals and 2,500 messages over the period of Christmas/New Year where I barely checked dA. No way am I going to be able to wade through all those! Now begins the process of selecting what to read, and what to delete to help me remain sane. I hate seeing a huge backlog of messages in my dA message centre! I won't go into it too heavily. There were a handful of very low points (including probably my lowest moment of 2011), but it was countered by a much higher number of high points, which weighed the scales in a much more positive manner. As well as having =vampiric-angel stay at my place for a couple of days before and after New Years, I also had our Norwegian friends, Chris and Eirik, in the country for it. Better still, Jenn was practically living at my place for over a week and a half <3. All these things rolled together made the holiday pretty darn good.

On The Subject of LabelsOne of the recurring comments given in my previous journal was "Why do we need to label ourselves at all?", or words to that effect. There are many of you who believe NO-ONE needs a label.
I both agree and disagree.
I agree, because I think you're right that we don't need to define to ourselves what we are by putting a label on it. I shouldn't say to myself "I'm gay. Therefore, I only am attracted to women." I think that if, in your head, you have a defined, labelled view of what you are, you start conforming yourself around that label. I'm sure many of you have heard stories of men and women who came out, then later admitted to feeling pressured into staying gay because they'd defined themselves as such to so many people. Conforming yourself around a social definition like that cannot be healthy.

PsychosocialWell hello there again Deviants! I figured it's been a while since I wrote a journal, and I've had little recreationally to write about, journal writing will have to do for the time being (and I'm killing time before I go to bed 'cause I seem to have gotten a second wind, just as I was getting ready to sleep).
I started the new semester yesterday. I think it's going to be a rough one, just because my classes aren't entirely that exciting. For a science major, my semester is odd. I have three general education courses and only one science course. My classes are: Social and Political Philosophy, which I can already tell will be the death of me this semester, Cultural Anthropology, which just seems dry so far, Bioethics, in which I have two extremely cowish people that I can't stand, and Zoology, which I'm super excited for sans the weekly dissections of dogfish and cats. And a close friend of mine is in the class with me, so I'm optimistic.

This account has been sat doing nowt ever since we moved all our cosplay material over to JenxTheJinx.

I've decided I'm going to start actually posting videos on it, mainly in the form of blogs, the odd review, and Q&A videos. I have fraps and intended to post videos of me playing (failing at) Amnesia and other such lollery, but my laptop doesn't like that idea too much!
