Sexuality Polls?WARNING FOR THE RAMBLINGS OF A TIRED, ILL PERSON!
So, you may wonder why I made the polls about sexuality.
From the age of 12 to 16, I was straight. I was always straight, and always going to be straight. I only dated guys, and that was the way it was stuck in my head.
Then at 16, things started changing. I was in a relationship, but I also found myself attracted to girls. In appearance, especially, I found females more appealing than males.
At around 18 or 19, my attraction to men started fading entirely, replaced purely by an interest in women.
At 20, I ended my straight relationship to be with Jenn. By this point, I only found women attractive.
Now I'm 24, and once again, I'm on the fence. I find both men and women attractive visually, but I'm not SEXUALLY attracted to any of them. The only person I honestly find sexually attractive is Jenn. She's female, so I suppose that labels me as a lesbian, as I am quite literally only attracted to females.

I think he's amazing.
Why?
Because he is pro-Equal Rights.
This journal is for nothing more than to say how happy I am that, finally, a president of the United States has boldly stepped forward and declared his support for same-sex marriages. He could have easily avoided this issue until after the election race was over, but he made the decision to be up-front and honest in advance. I respect that in a politician so very, very much.
So thank you, Obama. I sincerely hope people listen to you, and learn what it truly means to treat your fellow man as "equal".

On The Subject of LabelsOne of the recurring comments given in my previous journal was "Why do we need to label ourselves at all?", or words to that effect. There are many of you who believe NO-ONE needs a label.
I both agree and disagree.
I agree, because I think you're right that we don't need to define to ourselves what we are by putting a label on it. I shouldn't say to myself "I'm gay. Therefore, I only am attracted to women." I think that if, in your head, you have a defined, labelled view of what you are, you start conforming yourself around that label. I'm sure many of you have heard stories of men and women who came out, then later admitted to feeling pressured into staying gay because they'd defined themselves as such to so many people. Conforming yourself around a social definition like that cannot be healthy.
But at the same time, I disagree against the idea that we don't need labels in this world at all. We do need them... we just don't need to place extensive mean

Metrocon and "Gay Panic"-------Metrocon-------
So! The ball is really rolling for Metrocon now. I'm starting to get panel times together provisionally, as well as our panel content.
For those of you attending Metrocon... I always find that I rush to the evening parties, and never end up staying long. So, I was considering putting in one "late" panel at 9-10pm on Friday night, perhaps to screen videos that we haven't shown before, and generally have a bit of a laugh. Well, that was a varied set of results! I'll be honest and say they don't entirely surprise me, not due to the legitimacy/illegitimacy of psychics... but because of my audience here on deviantART.
Most of the people who follow me and vote in my polls are young adults and teenagers, who are all part of an art website, and so can be assumed to be creatively minded and imaginative. As such, predisposition towards the possibility of psychics seems reasonably likely. If I were to post the same discussion on a psychology forum, or a science forum, I imagine the results would have been very different.
I noticed a strong trend in "psychic-believers" that their belief tended to stem from a single experience with a psychic, in which they or someone they knew received a very accurate or shocking reading that they couldn't logically explain. My only comment on that, is to not base

There are all words we don't know how to spell, or have a habit of spelling incorrectly.
We all create grammatical errors.
These things I accept. I like to think I'm quite a good writer, but I still fall into these mistakes as well. However, I try to keep all my written pieces and correspondences as well-written as possible. Why?
Because when I am confronted with someone elses writing, poorly written, with atrocious spelling, non-existent grammar and dreaded 'txt tlk', I instantly lose the desire to read it.

2012 Plans, Girl Scouts, and Next Discussion Topic-------2012 Plans-------
Now that I'm a bit more settled into 2012, I'm getting my head around the year a little better. Despite my assurances to myself each year that I'll "take it easier next year", I've once again gone completely against that... and it's only January!

Never thought I'd find love...When I was younger, and even in my late teens, I could never hold down a relationship. It was hard enough being secretly gay and trying to find a nice girl. I went from partner to partner, and I was such a coward that I couldn't even break up with them but simply vanished from their lives without a word. Then I found an Axel cosplayer on the internet. She was better than me and I knew it but I tried my hardest to compete with her. We started sending messages back and forth to one another about Kingdom Hearts cosplay and she asked if I wanted to join. I agreed.

When we met up in London, I didn't have a clue where to go, since I was new to travelling around the capital. Four Years Ago

Ramblings...

Four years ago, something happened that completely changed the course of my life in a very real, very noticeable way.

On the 19th of January 2008, I hadn't really intended to do anything to make my life change so drastically. There was no plan, no preconception, nothing. Things just happened the way they happened, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

On the night of the 19th of January 2008, `tealpirate and I started going out.

From that day on, my life was changed. I'd gone from a previously unhappy relationship to one I now was full of hope, excitement and expectation. My previous relationship had me feeling worn out, disillusioned and unhappy by three years or so into the relationship, yet with Jenn, I'm four years in, and still as crazily in love as the day I met her.

So, here's to you, Jenn, and the four fabulous years of life you have already gifted me with. I hope to continue them for as long as I live, and can only hope to bring you the same measure of happiness that you grace me with, in every moment of every day.
