Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3
So, about the theme of the contest. Well whenever I've felt down and blue because I've been slapped upside the head with an art block, I like to wallow in self pity and blast my favourite tunes XD (LOL) It's extremely therapeutic :P and it really does help to inspire me with new ideas :D.

For those still uhm'ing and aah'ing over whether to attend, you can still turn up on the day and buy a One-Day ticket for the convention (unfortunately, you can no longer get rooms on-site). For those interested, head on over to the ALCON WEBSITE for more information.

Repeating myself like a boss here, but for those of you taking part in our L4D video, please made it to the Bede Hall quad by around Noon on Friday. You WILL be blood-splattered, so don't wear anything you don't want ruined. Also, we might latex some of you up, so if you have a latex allergy (or have never come into contact with latex before, so have no idea what effect it'll have on you) PLEASE let us know before we attack you with it!

Next week o.o Sure is a busy month for us!

Jenn and I have two panels over the weekend:
11am-12noon Saturday - General panel. We'll be answering questions about us, the Parlé group, our shows, cosplaying etc. We will not be doing In-Character answers to questions.

12noon-1pm Sunday - Joint Panel with Jo-Ellen. This is a cosplay-centric panel, where the three of us will answer any questions you may have about cosplay, whether it be techniques, acting, or anything else you can think of! If you have any personal questions for Jenn and I, please ask them at the Saturday panel.

We will also be hanging around the convention for most of the day/afternoon outside of our panel times to meet everyone. I'll be ducking away at about 1pm on Saturday to make it to my photo-op with Stan Lee, but that's about it.
