Updates
After feeling like a bun for the first two month,
I'm now fully back in school!
The University system is very different than ours in Canada so I'm still getting use to it.
Plus everything being in Finnish, haha!
Luckily most teachers don't mind translating for us and the other students help us as well.
And one of the students I partnered with is coming to Vancouver in September to attend my home University,
so I'll be able to play tour guide!
Living with 5 other girls all from different countries is an adventure as well,
England, France, Spain, Greece, and Taiwan.
I'm so thankful they are all super sweet,
and we cuddle up together,

This past week was been amazing,

Pocket Okapi Creations!So recently I have been wanting to make a cosplay of sergeant Calhoun, and I wanted to work on my fursuit. To do this, I need to some money. There are a lot of tentacles on dA recentlyAnd that's not a bad thing. People can make what they want! I've just noticed a HUGE increase of people making tentacle jewelry and making little etsy shops for it. BUT there is a problem I do have and would like to have a discussion with you all and find out what you all think about it-
-An artist on dA draws something, and let's say someone copies their drawing, changes a few things, but it is essentially the same. We see it all the time here on dA, so you know what I'm talking about. People freak out. They defend the original and bash the copy cat. But when it comes to something sculpted, like a tentacle necklace, someone can copy a necklace I've done before, same colors, same shape, and nobody freaks out.
Why?
Where and how do we draw the line of difference between a sculpted piece and drawing or painting?

Q: What is your overall process for blending and integrating different elements/stocks into your works?
A: I usually start by looking for stock with similar light sources. Then I add a color balance adjustment and possibly a curve adjustment to to get the colors to blend in well. My final step would be using the the dodge tool to add extra lighting or use a clipping mask and paint it in.

As we say over and over and over again, we CAN'T afford to fly around for every con people ask us to come to.

We're flying from ENGLAND, on our own money. I don't think people fully appreciate how expensive that is.

I do appreciate how expensive it is... if it's as expensive at it is for me to travel the 600+ miles or however far it is from where I live down to where the con is, it must easily be 5-10 times more expensive for you guys to travel from England to Southern California. It's just sad to be unable to attend when costs and distance ARE so comparably low... I'm sorry if I offended you, it was not my intent... *bows deeply* It's just frustrating to be without money and transportation when the trip, for me, could technically be such a simple, short distance. That's all.
