The next event for Jenn and I as guests is London Anime Con, held in Central London (UK) on Feb 9th-10th. We will be attending on Saturday 9th, holding panels on...

- Cosplay Makeup (midday), including SFX Makeup, body painting, and Female-to-Male makeup tips.
- 'Cosplay Stars' panel (3pm), also featuring talented cosplayers Himezawa and Finny Attridge.
- and hosting the Cosplay Auction (7pm)

Ticket prices are £16 for the full weekend, and ranging between £4 and £9 for single days (depending on which day, and what entry time you wish to go for). Please note that this is an 18+ Convention! People under the age of 18 will not be able to enter, and ID will be checked.

I've already posted this on my tumblr page, but we've received a fair few messages from people asking if they can send us gifts or cards for Christmas.

Jenn and I would be far more grateful if you donate the cost of your gift/card/postage to Doctors Without Borders, in honour of Parlé Productions. This way, we receive a message or eCard from each person who makes a donation, and that means far more to us. Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontiers are an amazing charity that pulls together medical staff of all ages, races, genders and religions to help those in need, no matter who they are.

The link above is for the USA site, but you can find links to the DWB/MSF webpages for your country on the website.

If you are unable to donate, perhaps due to not having a credit card, or just not having enough money, perhaps consider throwing a few loose coins into the collection tins of charities local to you. Small local charities often need your support far more than large international ones!

We are STILL waiting to hear back from the convention about our panel times (and, indeed, if our panels have even been accepted! WE were meant to hear back in Mid-October, but still nothing...). We're not attending as official guests of the con, but will be there. If, for whatever reason, our panels are not accepted, we will hold meetups in public areas of the convention. We'll give you info on this as it's arranged.

We're also going to be holding a pre-con meetup, for those who cannot make ALA. This will probably be on Saturday 29th of December,  and I've had it suggested that Little Tokyo would be a good place to hold it! We're still in the process of getting this all sorted. It'd be just a general meet up and hang-out, probably involving takeout food and many photographs. Anyone would be welcome, whether you wanted to turn up in cosplay or just as yourself. When we confirm the time and place, we'll post here and announce it on Youtube.

So, in-between conventions, cosplays, life, and my car... I'm extremely low on pennies right now. Like, for the first time in a VERY long time, I actually consider myself broke this month, which NEVER happens to me anymore. So, I'm selling a bunch of my stuff.

Including coat, cuff, and pants (not including undershirt, chain, mask, wig, chakrams, glove or boots). Because you wear this coat open, it'd probably fit anyone between a UK Size 10 - 14 (US 8-12, EU 36-40). The pants probably won't fit above a UK 12 (US 10, EU 38), but are easy enough to replace and replicate.

The coat is made from Pleather, and has a stiffened collar so that the design sticks up. There are details stitched on the coat and pants (stretch jersey fabric) in red wool. The cuffs are also pleather.

Including jacket, badge, pants and gloves. I will also include the wig and headband for free, if I can find them! This cosplay is made from pleather, and needs a bit of repair work. The pants zipper has broken, and I replaced it with velcro and never changed it. While the jacket fits up to a UK 12 (US 10, EU 38) the pants come up a little small, and while a UK 12 can squeeze into them, they're better suited to a size below.

I have really small hands and have stitched the gloves to fit, but that can be unpicked. The excess fabric is just folded inside the glove.

I've never worn this, having bought it because I thought it was so unusual, but never having occasion to put it on! It still has the tags attached! This corset-style top is unboned, and has a weird collar that sits separate to the front of the corset, but is fully attached at the back. The sleeves are gathered, flared at the ends. The shoulders are also gathered, and there are two straps and buckles at the back so you can cinch the waist, if desired.  I've never seen something quite like it, but hopefully someone out there will actually be able to wear it out or with a costume or whatever! Best for a UK 10-12 (US 8-10, EU 36-38).

I bought this thinking "I'll lose weight SPECIFICALLY to fit in this"... and never did XD Gutted to let it go, but I just can't give up the KFC to ever fit into it" This awesome wrap around skirt has zipper pockets down the one main side panel, as well as a bunch of clip-on pockets on the other side that can be rearranged and removed at will. It's made of a soft, almost canvas-like material, and is really hard-wearing. It does up with straps, so it will fit up to a UK10  (US 8, EU 36) and smaller by perhaps a size or two, but no bigger. It's gorgeous, bought from Camden Town in London, and subsequently never worn. I can only get it on if I wear it high on my waist!

What a great weekend we had in the Netherlands!

Abunaicon was a fantastic event for us, and went far better than we had expected! Despite some of them being early, all our panels did really well, and the cosplay contests were awesome! We met a few familiar faces, but made plenty of new friends! We really hope we can return for next year... Fingers crossed!

It's come around SO fast, and I feel totally unprepared!!

So, Abunaicon is THIS FRIDAY, and I've finally got around to deciding exactly which costumes I'm bringing... though no clue what ones I'm wearing on which days!

I haven't worn Rogue for aaages, but having tried it on again last night, I'm really excited to be wearing this costume again. She is, after all, one of my absolute favourite Marvel characters~

There is a preliminary EuroCosplay round being held at Abunaicon too, so we're expecting to see some awesome costumes at this! As Jenn and I are primarily non-Japanese/Asian origin cosplayers and choose our costumes from outside of this spectrum, we're looking forward to seeing not only some great costumes from animes and manga, but also some fantastic Western-origin costumes too!

At the request of my mates, I set up this Marvel "high school" AU roleplaying board, and we've decided to open it up before we get started to allow others to join.

I WARN YOU NOW THAT I CAN BE A BITCH OF AN RP ADMIN.
I am very particular about the kinds of writers I want on my board, and personally will be vetting every application that comes through. I classify this as an "intermediate to advanced RP board", and 300 words per post should be a bare minimum of your abilities, as well as using good spelling and grammar.

Feel free to take a look, and feel ever freer to apply… but don't get offended if your personal style or skill isn't what I'm looking for on my board. If you can't take criticism of your writing easily, then be warned XD

There are probably a few rules and history bits I've missed, so bare with me. Also, depending how busy things get, I may be asking for help moderating. Currently, myself and Conor are adminning, but if things get to much, we may need help ^_^

So, we have three last confirmed conventions we're attending this year... all in totally different places!

ABUNAICON
24-26th August

Held in the Netherlands, close to Eindhoven. Jenn and I are pleased to be joining Belgian cosplayers Kimi and Katja as the conventions official Cosplay Guests! This'll be our first time visiting the Netherlands, and we really hope to meet some of our followers there, as well as some new friends too!

We have a vague idea of what cosplays we will do, but need to sort some things out first. We'll confirm next month!

We're not sure if we'll be doing a big music video again this year... but we WILL be doing photoshoots, and are looking for people to join us in them! Last year we personally dubbed ALcon to be ZombieCon... and this year we're doing GangCon (olol, so many terrible jokes could be made from this).

Myself and the gang will be cosplaying from the Saints Row 3 games, and we're looking for generic gang members from the 3rd Street Saints , Morningstar, Luchadores and Deckers (you can find more in-game pics of these characters if you search the gang name and 'saints row' on google, or check the SR wikia). We're not looking for any of the named characters at the moment, as pretty much all of them should be taken, if people pull through, so it's just the gang members. We may end up filming some stuff as this lot too, though not another big music video. If you want to join in, feel free!

We're heading over to the ROI to join Eirtakon as their cosplay guests for this year! We've kept this one quiet for a little while, but have now been officially announced, and can confirm that we'll be there! This'll be our last convention of the year, so we're hoping to end the year on an awesome note with you guys!

We haven't decided on costumes for this yet, so will confirm closer to the date!

Back from another amazing Metrocon... possibly my favourite so far! Huge thankyou hugs to everyone who came out to see us, gave us gifts, and generally made the event spectacular for us. After all the stresses we'd been through during the first half of the year, this was a much-needed break, and you guys made it awesome for us!

For those who weren't at the convention, and missed the announcement of our new show.... it's Avengers 8D There are a few clips that people have posted on YouTube of us as our Avengers characters.... and guess who's Tony Stark 8D

Think Friends meets The Avengers, and you've got a good idea of what the show will be like.

I just suffered shock at advice I saw being given to a convention goer of how to keep her energy levels up while at a convention...

- Hold soda in your mouth for a few seconds before swallowing it, as your mouth absorbs the sugars quicker
- Drink OJ with sugar added to it
- Honey sticks

Basically, the advice given was "SUGAR, AND LOTS OF IT!"

God.

I don't know what people are taught about health in the USA, but clearly it's VERY different to the UK. People, PLEASE don't live on sugar at a convention! Not only is it bad for your teeth, but bad for your health, and it's NOT the best source of energy there is!

Eating regularly and healthily, especially wholemeals, will provide you with a much healthier and long-lasting source of energy. Sure, you may get a brief rush from a Red Bull, but you'll have a crash as well. I know none of us take the best care of ourselves at cons, but at least TRY to get in a decent breakfast, lunch and dinner. And drink plenty of water!!

And definitely don't advocate an "all sugar" diet to others. Pocky and Monster are not meals.

On Friday, we will be in our Left 4 Dead costumes all day, apart from the Late Night Party, where we'll be changing into the costumes for our new show! *insert fireworks and excitement here*

On Saturday, we'll be in the Marauders until our panel ends at 3pm. After that, Jenn and I (and the others, if they want to!) will be swapping into our L4D costumes again for the Changing Faces panel.

On Sunday, we'll likely be in civilian clothing (unless we feel up to wearing L4D all day, or decide to wear our SECRET COSTUMES that get revealed on Friday), changing into manry stuffs for Changing Faces.

When not in panels, we'll be hanging out with you lovely lot around the convention centre, or trawling through the artists alley/dealers room. I'll be on the lookout for anything Iron Man or Portal-ish 8D

It's my birthday on Sunday.

I'll be turning 25, which is halfway to 50, which is scary. I miss being 23. That was a good age...

Anyways, I'm seeing Blink 182 on Friday with ~chimocho and her fiance, then seeing all the other Parlé derps on Saturday for lols and Nandos. Sunday I'll be with the family.

I've had a few PM's from people asking to draw birthday pictures, or asking if they can get me gifts. For those who are wondering (and to answer all those messages in a single go), if you DO want to give/make something for my birthday, I'd love...

- Llama and cake badges via deviantART.
- Art relating to Iron Man, Portal, L4D2, Red vs Blue, HP Marauders and Parlé in general
- Iron Man goodies at Metrocon
- And, for those of you without artsy skills, or who aren't going to Metrocon, just a message on my main dA page saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and with a line or two about how you WOULD celebrate my birthday with me, if we were to be hanging out for the day. That'd be pretty awesome too ^_^

I haven't been looking forward to turning 25, but I bet you lot will make it a happier experience

My Portal Gun arrived 8D

Not 100% happy, as there is some manufacturing damage to it (an issue it seems several people have discovered), but I got myself a partial refund from the seller, and I believe I can fix it up just fine. So, all in all, can't complain too much! Will be bringing it along to Expo for my Portal costume

A bunch of us will be there this weekend, so feel free to bounce on over and say hello! On Saturday, we'll be doing Dragon Age costumes, and I'll be getting changed into my Portal costume later in the day.
On Sunday, I'll be in one of my Twi'lek costumes, and Jenn will likely be in civvies, taking pictures.
