This newspaper is dated November of 1996, I believe. I can't zoom in close enough to check, but I seem to remember it was Nov 96. There were loads of newspapers and magazines left scattered around the place. Some of them featured our lady, the Princess Diana.

I will not reveal how to enter this building, nor any other. Urban exploration is a dangerous hobby. Unsafe flooring, collapsing ceilings, asbestos, needles and decay are all present in these environments. Please exercise extreme caution if you choose to go urban exploring yourself.

It's quite strange they left the place like that, as if everyone just up and left whilst in the middle of something.

Thatcher. She wanted "Care in the Community" where the insane were treated close to home instead of in isolated asylums like this. That's why most of the UK's mental asylums got slowly closed down.

That and the introduction of medication and prescription drugs to control the patients, they just don't need big establishments like this to keep them away from people any more. All of the abandoned mental asylums in the UK are pretty isolated so they could be 100% self sufficent too. Just thought I'd randomly add my thoughts =P
